Shimano Nasci FB Reel

Shimano have upped their game lately in terms of providing for everyones budget, with the release of the new Nasci range, you no longer need to rob your bank account to access a premium quality reel. The Nasci reels come equipped with some of Shimano’s finest features that are usually only seen in the more expensive reels; such features include Hagane Gears, X-Ship and Core Protect.

Cold-Forged Hagane Gears provide unparalleled Strength, Durability and Smoothness for consistent and long-lasting performance.

X-Ship stands for extra smooth and high power, so it’s obvious in what it delivers. It’s achieved by supporting the pinion gear on either side with SA-RB bearings and increasing the size of the drive gear.

Core Protect is the solution to increasing water resistance without increasing weight and bulkiness, it’s basically a water-repellent coating that protects the areas that need it most: the body, the roller clutch, and the line roller.

The Nasci’s also incorporates Shimano’s new G-Free body design into the reel, which effectively shifts the oscillating system and worm drive closer to the stem of the reel. This lowers the reels centre of gravity so that it sways less from side to side and feels lighter in the hand.
